Tilly is a 4 year old Blenheim girl who came from a puppy mill in Kansas. The vet said she has a grade 2 right patella luxation, but Tilly doesn’t seem to know or care.  She is actually starting to play and dance happy circles when her foster mom comes home or is preparing meals.  Her foster mom is pretty sure Tilly is ticklish and says she acts like one of her granddaughters when she is tickled.

Tilly has done amazingly well with her potty training. Her first week out of the puppy mill, Tilly did have two accidents in the house, but none since then.  Tilly sleeps through the night with another cavalier in a crate right next to her foster mom’s bed. Tilly does not want to have anyone take ahold of her collar.  When this happens, she becomes fearful and may cry or cower.  It will take a very gentle touch and a lot of time to get her used to a leash, but she is a very smart girl!  She shows no signs of food aggression.  Other dogs can push Tilly away from her food bowl, so she needs to be able to eat alone.  At first her foster mom had to get her started eating by hand feeding her, but once she got into it, oh boy! She has also been on a diet to lose a couple pounds.Tilly is young enough that she could adjust to almost any home situation.  As is true with most mill dogs, she will need someone with patience and it would be best to have someone around the house most of the time.  She loves to sit in the sun while her foster mom pets her and tells her how pretty and good she is.   Tilly seems to think children are pretty good, especially when they are calm and  give her treats.  Tilly does extremely well with the other dogs in her foster home and would do best in a home with at least one other small dog.  This is one sweet girl with tons of potential.  She will give more than she ever takes.

If you are interested in this precious girl, please fill out and submit an application then contact jcharlton1@att.net for further information. Tilly is being fostered in Broomfield, CO.
