Cavalier King Charles Spaniel : : Female
Interested in adopting?
Paige came to Lucky Star after retiring from her life as a breeder in an Amish farm/kennel in Ohio. Her birthdate is 6/16/2020. She is fairly young.
She has been in foster care since late August and is learning how to become the joyful, sweet pup she should have always been! She is now up to date on her vaccinations, had a dental and was spayed. Her vet says her eyes, knees and heart look and sound good! YEAH!
Paige came in to rescue with a group of 3 other dogs & Paige was the shyest of the crew.
Fortunately, Paige is in a foster home with 6 other Cavaliers and all of those wiggly butts have really helped Paige to start to come out of her shell!
Paige’s favorite things are breakfast, dinner, and treats! J She gets a little over excited when her foster mom is preparing her meals & has no problem letting her know that meal prep time is taking way too long! She knows her meal spot and will wait right there until her meal is being carried to her. Then Paige will hop up on her hind legs trying to get to her bowl & continue hopping right over to her spot!
Paige loves snuggling on the couch. She is not proficient at getting up or down from the sofa yet, however, she has no problem letting you know that is what she wants! Paige does get the zoomies from time to time inside & outside! She has not yet started to play with toys but she certainly loves running with “the big dogs” when they are all outside! Paige is currently working on walking on a leash! Paige also loves her crate! She feels safe and secure in her crate and we often find her there during the day snoozing away with the door wide open!
Paige is 90% potty trained. She is a good girl when she is taken out every few hours, after meals, after a nap, and is fine throughout the night or whenever she is crated. She will need someone who knows the signs to look for (sniffing the ground and circling) as with rescues, they do not know how to tell anyone the need to go!
Paige is the sweetest girl who wants nothing more than to be loved and to be a member of a family. She is young petite girl at only 3 years old and currently weighs 16lbs. She has beautiful thick, soft hair that is starting to grow in. She will have a gorgeous coat someday! She also has the cutest freckles which her foster mom loves to kiss!
Paige would do best in a calm home. It took Paige a while to feel safe in her foster home. Loud noises and fast movements frighten Paige. Older, dog savvy children might be agreeable for this girl. Paige needs to have a crate in her new home as this is her safety zone. Her new family must be willing to allow her the time she needs to feel safe in her new environment. This will not happen overnight, but I promise you, Paige is worth the wait! Paige takes cues from the other dogs, so she needs a home with at least one other small dog for companionship and guidance. She sill not be adopted as a only dog. She is also being fostered with 2 cats and she is fine with them. A secure fenced yard is a must as rescue dogs have a tendency to bolt. This requirement is for the safety of this precious, beautiful girl! Please consider her location in Saratoga Springs area of NY before applying since we do not approve long-distant adoptions. After completing an application, contact Mary Coyne, firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
