Noel is a 15 lb, 5 1/2  year old, Blenheim female rescued from a farm in Ohio just 3 days before Christmas.  Noel is a little skittish around people but easily warms up to those who want to pet her.  She is still a little reserved but is getting better at being picked up if she is on the couch or in a space where she feels comfortable.   Noel has learned to go up and down the steps at her foster home.  She is mostly housebroken, though will not ask to go out so it is up to her adopter to continue to bring her out regularly until she learns the new routine or watch for the signs that indicate she needs to go out.   She readily accepts treats from foster mom’s hand.  She is a reluctant lap dog; but does settle down and loves to be petted.  She is working on walking on a leash and making good progress.  Noel loves to play and zoom around the yard.  She has been known to take loose socks and shirts away to her bed to chew if they are left unattended! Noel is happy and motivated and will continue to blossom with love and encouragement in her forever home!

Noel had a full vet check up. She got all her vaccinations and bloodwork. Noel has a consistent grade two murmur. She was seen by a cardiologist and had an echocardiogram. It showed early mitral valve disease with no heart enlargement. Her lungs were clear. She needs to have another echocardiogram in 1 yr and her heart will need to be listened to carefully each time she is at the vet.  She did well with her dental cleaning and lost no teeth. She was spayed on the same day. She tolerated surgery well.

If you are looking for a playful and happy girl, Noel would love to meet you.  She can be a bit timid until she gets to know you. She is gaining trust nicely.  She will bark when there are sudden noises and people she is not as familiar with.  Activities like the vacuum cleaner and washing machine don’t seem to phase her though.  She is also curious about new things and likes to investigate what is going on.  She has made great progress since coming into rescue. She would do well in active but not over active home setting.

Noel was released to Lucky Star along with Eve. We don't know if they were together in the facility, however they made fast friends at their foster home. Noel was the braver of the two and Eve followed her lead. If you are interested in adopting 2 sweet girls, they would make a very nice pair.

A physically fenced yard attached to an exit from the house is required. Mature, older children would be OK.

If you are interested in adopting Noel please fill out an application and contact Mary Coyne at mary401339@aol.com with your interest.  We do not ship dogs or approve long distant adoptions so please be aware of her location in Michigan before applying.
