~~Penny is a very sweet little girl. She gets along with other dogs and cats and does well with older children. As you can see from her pictures, Penny LOVES her plush toys. She likes to carry them around and put them in a pile. She has no problem sharing her toys or bowls with her foster brother and sisters.
Penny is overcoming her initial shyness when she first came in to foster care. She will easily climbs the 3 porch steps in her foster home but large flights of stairs are scary for her. She would prefer a house where she did not have to climb to a second story. She does prefer to eat from a flat dish rather than a bowl. She will often lie flat on the floor when you first walk towards her but this behavior is lessening as she grows in confidence. These behaviors are very typical of a dog that has lived in a cage all her life.
She is crate trained and has a big fluffy bed in her crate. She often prefers to lay in her crate while at home with the door open. She is potty trained and is learning to walk on a leash. She is learning what love is from her foster family. Penny requires a fenced yard and another small dog as a companion.
