We are no longer accepting applications for Emmy in order to take the time to review the many who have applied and shown interest in her.  Please apply if you are interested in adopting.  There are many dogs in the process of receiving veterinary care who will need loving home soon, many are fairly young females, (ages 2-5 years).  Thank you.

Hi, My name is Emmy.  I am about 3 ½ years old and used to work hard at making puppies but I just recently retired and came to live with my foster Mom.  Retirement agrees with me.  I have a lot of energy and I’m learning all kinds of great new things like how to “make good girl” outside and how to run and play in the big physically fenced back yard with my foster brother.

At first I was a little shy and I still startle sometimes but I’m very friendly once I warm up and like just about everyone I meet.  My foster Mom says I can run like the wind and turn on a dime.  She thinks I might like and be really good at something called agility.  I’d like to try it, I think.

When I’m inside I have decided that the couch is much more comfy than my crate and prefer to snuggle there.  I’m even learning how to use the step to get up by myself!  My foster Mom introduced me to toys.  I wasn’t sure what they were for but I’m starting to get it.  When Mom rolls a tennis ball across the floor I will follow it but it doesn’t do anything.  Strange.  But I have a stuffed tree trunk with little squirrels that squeak in it and when Mom throws the squirrels I like to chase them and bring them back to my crate.  Now that is a fun game!

Between running and playing I like to take breaks.  There is nothing better than sitting on the couch having my ears scratched and tummy rubbed.  I would love a forever home and family who would include me in their daily activities and spend lots of time with me teaching me more fun new things.  I haven’t tried walking on a leash or riding in the car yet but I’m hoping to try those things soon!  Are you ready to try fun new things with me?

I would love a home with a fenced yard and another canine playmate.  I am being fostered near Cleveland.  If you would like to be my forever home, please fill out the adoption application on the Lucky Star website, the contact Mary Coyne, mary401339@aol.com and let her know that you are interested in me.
