Meet Lainey!

Lainey was recently surrendered from a retiring breeder, along with her brother Tate. DNA results confirmed that she is a Cockalier—53% Cocker Spaniel and 47% Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She will be celebrating her 1st birthday in January. 

It took Lainey all of about 15 minutes to make herself right at home and become part of the “pack” with her foster sisters. She has the energy of a puppy and absolutely loves toys—especially balls! She also enjoys being outside, particularly in the backyard where she can be off leash and show off her zoomies. Her foster dad even snow-blowed two “tracks” in the yard, and Lainey loves showing off just how fast she can run!

Lainey is almost fully housebroken. She quickly learned the word “potty” and is doing great, though she’s still learning how to let us know when she needs to go out. She walks well on a leash but would benefit from a bit more practice. Lainey is very food-motivated, which makes her eager to learn—though she does eat fast and uses a slow-feeder bowl.

As hard as Lainey plays, she sleeps just as hard. She always wants to be near her foster parents and definitely favors her foster dad. She is extremely affectionate and loves to cuddle. One of her favorite things is giving “long kisses”—pressing her lips to yours and holding them there. At night, Lainey prefers sleeping in bed with her people, though we are currently working on crate training.

Lainey hasn’t met a dog or human she doesn’t like, though she has not been cat-tested. She has had a thorough veterinary exam with no health concerns noted. She is up to date on vaccinations, has been spayed, and weighs approximately 17 pounds.

Now all that’s left is finding Lainey the forever home she deserves!
 

Lainey is currently being fostered near Saratoga Springs, NY. We require a fenced yard and another canine companion in the home for her to be considered.
