Kelly is both pretty and dainty.  Just over 14 lbs,  and is 5 years old.  She comes from a commercial breeding situation that and was not well socialized with people.    Kelly loves to follow you around, loves treats and being with other dogs.  She gets along with everyone, likes the “doggie” pile.  Kelly has an interest in toys and things to chew.  Mealtime is her favorite and she does not miss one morsel.  Kelly is crate trained, and only vocal at mealtime.  She is 100% potty trained if you remember to put her out every couple hours.  If not, there are accidents.  The hard part about the pretty, sweet girl is that she does not like to be held or picked up.  She will pull back if you go to touch her, like she is afraid of being hit.  Kelly will need a home that is understanding and will work with her to gain trust.  She can be affectionate on her own terms and will lick her foster’s fingers.  Another dog is a must and she would be most comfortable with another Cavalier.  Older, children are okay, if they move slowly not to startle her.  If you want someone to adore you from afar and is willing to work with her, Kelly is your girl.  

She has had a thorough exam, spay, dental, vaccinations and is in good health. 

Kelly is being fostered in the Poughkeepsie area of New York.  She must have a fenced yard, someone to be patient with her and allow her to continue to build her confidence and trust.  We do not support long distant adoptions or ship dogs on planes.  Please consider her location before applying.  After completing an application, contact Mary Coyne, mary401339@aol.com of your interest.
