Ivy is a sweet girl that is looking for her forever home!  Ivy has spent her life in crate and has been breed at least once.  She came to Lucky Star as a very scared and skittish girl who wanted to be loved but didn’t know how.  It took several weeks for her to get comfortable with her foster family.   Her trust issues are getting better and she has come so far.  Ivy has been around another cavalier in her foster home.  Ivy does not like to be on the ground, she likes to be up on the couch cuddled up.   She is still very shy and will need a family who will be patient with her.  She preferably needs a female as her primary care giver.  She is still very timid of men but does warm up to them once she knows they are OK.  Ivy is great with older children respectful.  She attached quickly to the 12 &14 year old girls in her foster home.  Ivy is a healthy girl with healthy teeth and appetite!  We are still working with her eating from her bowls on the floor.  She prefers to be elevated to eat as well.  She loves being outside exploring the fenced in backyard.  While not quite leashed trained, she has improved and willing with some coaxing and patience.

Ivy requires a securely fenced yard (a physical fence), another canine companion in the home and lots of patience and time to continue to work through her shyness.  We do not consider long distant adoptions, use commercial transports or put on planes.  Please be willing to drive to AR before you apply.  Please contact Mary Coyne, mary401339@aol.com of your interest after completing an application.  Adoptions are on hold during COVID19 restrictions but applications are under review.
