Meet Spencer!  This cute almost 9 yr old boy is an owner release due to his owner moving away. He is smart and alert. He's good with other dogs and doesn't bother the cat at his foster home. He enjoys going for walks and is good in the car. Spencer was placed on heart meds last year when his mild murmur heard at age 5 progressed. Lucky Star provided a cardiology consult for him. The echocardiogram results showed that Spencer's meds needed to be increased (Vetmedin, Lasix and Enalapril). He has had an occasional dry cough that has not worsened. He gets tired when he goes for a walk after a couple blocks. He will need continued monitoring of his heart condition and to keep taking heart meds twice daily. Spencer is house trained and up to date on vaccinations. He had his teeth cleaned shortly before coming to Lucky Star and will need a dental next year. He has lost quite a few teeth. Spencer needs to eat separate from other dogs as he will guard his food. Otherwise, he gets along fine with the other dogs at his foster home. He has thrived with the love and encouragement he gets from his foster family. If you feel you can provide a loving home for him please apply to adopt him.
