~~Jamie is a handsome 7 year old boy who came to Lucky Star from a commercial breeding facility. He has been neutered, microchipped, had a dental and brought up to date on all his vaccines. Jamie's coat was very matted when he came to us so he was cut very short. We are happy to report that it is growing back in beautifully.

Jamie is a sweet, gentle soul who loves to be around other dogs but also loves to be in your lap getting petted and loved on.  He is so great with other dogs. He’s happy to be running with the pack or hanging out on the top step watching the rest of the dogs.  He is so much fun and is just learning what toys are and LOVES TO PLAY BALL.  He will chase it and bring it and will let you take it from him to throw for more fun but he does get a little obsessive about it so sometimes his foster family takes it from him and hides it until the next time.  Jamie’s foster Mom says he has been an absolute joy to be around and is such a lover.  He is learning every day what it is to be a loved and pampered pet.  He has bonded with Archie, who is also being fostered for Lucky Star by this family. They are both learning from each other and it has been so much fun to watch.  He knows the basic commands of “go outside”, “time for bed” and come.  Since Jamie spent most of his former life in a cage he lacked some muscle tone and strength in his back legs. Thankfully with exercise that is coming back. He can now stand up to the furniture with his front paws planted on the cusions but has not yet tried jumping up on chairs or the couch. However, he is a pro at using the doggie steps. Jamie will make a wonderful addition to a family who is willing to open their home to a rescue cavalier.  He is still hesitant around men but getting more comfortable every day and once he gets close to you and experiences love and pets, he is your friend forever. 

Jamie is being fostered in northern Ohio in New Philadelphia. He needs at least one other companion dog and a physically fenced yard.
