Meet April

April is a beautiful 6-year-old Blenheim Cavalier weighing in at a cuddly 21 pounds of pure love. She is everything people adore about Cavaliers—gentle, affectionate, and happiest right by your side. She simply loves being near her people, whether you’re relaxing at home or going for a stroll. And it’s not just her foster family who adores her—April loves everyone she meets, and the feeling is mutual! She’s a fan favorite at the vet’s office, and everyone that has met her has fallen for her sweet, loving personality. April is fully potty trained and does wonderfully on walks—she has great leash manners and enjoys getting out to explore.

At home, she loves spending time in the backyard with her foster siblings and is just beginning to discover the joy of toys (watching her play with squeaky toys is absolutely adorable!). When it comes to cats, April is curious but not aggressive. She has been around cats in her foster home, but at this time we feel she would do best in a home without cats to set her up for the most success. When it’s time to rest, April is easygoing and flexible—she happily snuggles up on dog beds with her foster siblings or relaxes in her crate with the door open.

\April has a grade 2/3 heart murmur. A recent echocardiogram showed that no medical treatment is needed at this time, and her prognosis is good. She simply needs a stable diet and moderate activity (no strenuous exercise), along with a routine recheck in a year. April thrives with companionship and would do best in a home with another friendly dog and a securely fenced yard, where she can safely play and continue to build her confidence. April has been spayed, had a dental, and is up to date on all vaccinations—she’s ready to find her forever home!
