Lina - MI

April 30, 2010

Lina has found her home in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Congrats sweet girl!

March 22, 2010

Lina is doing fabulous.  She has lost her weight and feels like a new dog!!!  She really does love to run and explore the yard so a fenced yard is REQUIRED.  The only thing Lina does not like is a leash.  She still pretty much freezes.  Not sure why, we've worked on it, and even let her drag a really thin short leash off and on here, but it does bother her.  She would not do well in a home where they want a walking partner, or would need to take her on a leash to potty.  I do think she would do best with another dog in the house.  Preferably a dog of similar size to her.  Small/medium....She enjoys watching their antics, running after them, and does 'borrow' confidence from them. Although she is not a girl that is going to be the constant play mate for another.
She is SUPER SUPER sweet.  Not pushy. Is so happy and bounces and spins in the air in a circle when you come home, into the room, into the yard and talk to her.  She is still a little shy of quick movements so a household with older kids and adults is preferred.  A home where kids visit occasionally and are respectful are fine though.

Lina is doing great.  She is extremely playful.  She likes to steal toys form the other dogs and run with them.  She shakes the toys and pounces on them.  When she comes in from outside she scampers around the house.  She frollicks in the snow.  Lina is going to the door to go outside!!!

She thinks she is hot stuff now that she has mastered the stairs.  She still loves to cuddle on the chair or couch or bed.  She is still struggling with a leash, but does okay on a very long rope.

Lina was saved from a puppy mill in Missouri in early December.  She is only 3 years old with a whole new life in front of her!!!  She has been vetted, including a dental and spay.  The vet said she is heart clear with good knees.  She does need to lose a couple of pounds, but that won't be hard now that she's on good food.  Her real name was Thumbellina, but you can see from her picture it wasn't quite a fit!!!

Lina is SWEEEEET.  She likes to cuddle and snuggle and stay close on the couch if not on a lap/chest.  Now that she's found freedom, she doesn't like a crate much and will cry a little bit when she has to go into it.  She is still scared of doorways a bit (quite normal for mill dogs), but is adapting to life in a house.   She's beginning to learn about toys and snow.  She gets frisky in the chilly weather and snow and scampers around the yard in glee!!  She hasn't been on a leash yet, but we'll try her on that soon.  She has done fine with the other dogs but hasn't interacted much except for running in the yard with them.  She prefers to stick by her person for LOVE!!!

Lina is being fostered in southern Michigan.  For more information -- only after completing an application -- contact kimberly_olive@hotmail.com.  Please list your location so we can search for your application.
