Max - IL

March 2, 2010

Max has a home of his own.  We're so happy for him!

December 30, 2009

Max is doing great. He has not tried to escape and is settling into his foster home well. He has difficulty going through doors when someone is standing there...typical mill dog behavior.  He is very sweet.  Max loves kids and dogs (cats unknown) and has begun initiating play with other dogs. He has been sleeping with me and the other dogs in my bed.  Because of his issues, Max would probably do best with kids 8 and older.

Dear Santa Paws,

My name is Max and I am writing for a really big favor. I need to find my fur-ever family. I promise to be a good Cavalier next year.

I am a 4 and year old black and tan male Cavalier. I weigh 17 lbs. I love dogs and people, but I am very shy at first. I will need time to become thoroughly bonded to my new family.  I still have a lot of learning to do and need patient adopters who can teach me what it means to be part of a family.

I must have a fully fenced yard so I dont get lost.  I will run off when I'm scared, so somebody needs to really keep an eye on me.  My New Years resolution is to be fully housetrained. I am trying really hard, but I still make mistakes.

When I was younger, I was diagnosed with a grade 2 heart murmur, but at my most recent checkup the vet said there was no sign of one. YAY!  I heard my foster mom say that sometimes they can come and go, but I'm hoping it's gone forever.  My patellas are good (if I do say so myself) and my teeth are shiny from their recent cleaning.

Well, dont forget, Santa, my foster home is in Rockford, IL. See you soon! I promise not to bark at the reindeer when you visit on Christmas Eve.

Love, Max
