Artie has been patient and found a wonderful forever home with a Beagle sister......just his speed so the two can hang out together.

Artie is such a sweet, lovable guy.  He just loves the other Cavaliers in his foster home and can always be found cuddling next to one of them.   Other "cuddly" dogs will be a must for him.  He also likes people and is generally a low activity boy.

Artie was rescued from an Amish farm in Lancaster County during October when laws were passed in PA forcing many breeders to downsize their kennels in order to comply with strict regulations.  Artie was amongst several adults who were fortunate enough to come to Lucky Star. We estimate his age to be about 5-6 years old.  He is a sweet, gentle boy who is very happy with his new living conditions. Artie had to have all of his teeth removed due to years of neglect because they teeth were in horrible shape, but he manages to eat without any problems and a few minor adjustments (like warm water to soften kibble).  Now that he is rid of those rotten teeth he is feeling much better.  There were no noted heart or knee problems detected during his medical exam.  Artie is easy-going and likes everyone and also gets along well with other dogs.  Older children would probably be OK, if they are respectful of dogs and another dog is a must.  Even though Artie walks on a leash, he'd prefer a home with a fenced yard (physical fence) where he can continue to enjoy his new freedom.  He loves being outside and often doesn't want to come in...even in the rain!  He's enjoying nature after  years in a barn.  His house breaking is still a work in progress but he is improving every day.
