Duke is a distinguished, older gentleman who found himself in rescue when his beloved master recently died. At 7 years of age, Duke is a laid back, loving fellow who enjoys one-on-one attention, walks on the leash in the neighborhood, and a big soft bed. He has plenty of energy for a 7 year old, and enjoys brief playtimes with the younger dogs in his foster home. He gets along well with children, and would do well in virtually any environment, but because of his age and because he is used to being an only child, we will not place him in a home with several other pets. One or two other companions for Duke would be fine, or a home where he is the one and only.
Duke is housebroken, crate trained, and in overall good health. He has been diagnosed with a Grade 3 heart murmur, but is asymptomatic and does not require medication at this time. Duke is a wonderful companion and just wants to be with his owner. He follows his foster Dad from room to room all day long.
