Prince
Hi, my name is Prince. I am an 8 year old male Blenheim Cavalier looking for a forever home. I am a rescue from a puppy mill in Tennessee and have lived my whole eight years in a cage siring many puppies during that time. I have a grade five heart condition, and I will have to have heart medication for the rest of my life. That's okay for me because my foster mum gives me my pills in peanut butter -- lick, lick!!! I love being around other dogs and playing chase. I have figured out what I should do with a ball, but in time I am sure that I will get it. I get excited at meal times, so much so that I wag my tail like crazy and bark just to let me foster mum know that I am hungry. My foster mum is working hard to housetrain me, and even if I have to say so myself, I am doing very well. I am 99.9% house trained although I have had a couple of accidents. Not sure if I will walk on a leash so a big fenced yard would work for me. I can walk up and down stairs but have a fear of being picked up. I'm getting used to it though since I'm getting love for the first time!! My foster mum says I have a very sweet nature and I am also very quiet. I have my favorite chair that I love to sit in, beats that hard cage life. I am enjoying my new found freedom and would like to share it with someone who will love me and take care of me.
Note from Foster mum:
Prince is a joy to have living in my home. He is intelligent, sweet and a funny little man. He gets on well with my three Cavalier boys and he is doing well on his training. Every day is a learning experience for him whether it is loves/cuddles, insects, grass/mulch, cooking smells, leaves or barking at his ball. It is fun to watch his face as he is exploring the new world around him. He looks at me as much to say “what’s this?” Prince is a special little guy with a big heart full of love. He is loving and special and so needs a home that will give him the love, care and attention he needs.
Note from Prince's vet:
Prince has a Grade 5 heart murmur. We did an echocardiogram on him and have placed him on Enalipril and Vetmedin. He will need to continue on these for the rest of his life, which will be short. We can't say how much time he has left, but roughly guessing maybe a year.
