Kerri is doing well on her meds for SM, so it definitely leads us to believe she has a mild case though she hasn't had an MRI. Her current meds cost about $15 per month. She has done well on California Natural Herring and Sweet Potato and isn't having any more allergy issues on that food. Life is great for Kerri so long as you throw the ball for her about 30 times a day until her tongue hangs out!!! Collars and harnesses make her scratch (common with SM), so a fenced yard is a must for her. She is house-trained to the dog door in her foster home and hasn't had an accident in weeks.

Kerri is doing well in her new foster home. She has been checked out at the vet since her return. She is now 7 years old and still is heart clear with good knees! She has some allergies, so we are testing various foods right now to find one that she does well on. She air scratches like she might have a mild case of SM that gets more aggravated when excited, so we've started her on some light meds. She is responding to the meds, and they are quite inexpensive. Because it is so mild and doesn't seem to be progressing, I don't think it's a huge issue for her future. Kerri loves to play fetch and play with balls, more than any Cavalier I've ever seen. I guess that's fitting since she's named after a volleyball player!! She gets a puppy excitement in her eyes and runs like the wind. She loves to snuggle on a lap too, a perfect combination of activity and love!! Kerri is and will always be a bit shy still, but someone will be very lucky to have her in their home. A quieter home with a fenced yard will best suit Kerri. Kerri is being fostered in Indianapolis, IN. Kerri and Sal (adopted to be brothers and sisters) were returned to Lucky Star due to family changes that made it impossible to keep them.

Kerri is a 6 year-old girl named after Kerri Walsh of the US Olympic Beach Volleyball Team. She is a little timid and reserved at first but she loves to be cuddled. She's not yet learned to walk on a leash so a fenced yard will make her most comfortable in a new home. She likes other dogs and would like a canine companion. No small children and a moderately quiet home would also be best due to her quiet, somewhat timid nature. Kerri had many of her teeth pulled during her veterinary care due to poor nutrition and poor dental care in the puppy mill. She is clear of any heart murmurs at this time which is great news for a gal her age. Her knees are fine as well. Kerri is being fostered in MA.
